Description

Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing is one of the most performed plays of all time, and with good reason. The plot has twists and turns that take the audience from romantic comedy to slapstick comedy to tragedy and back again. Punctuated by Berlioz’s masterful musical treatment of the story, Bèatrice et Bènèdict, SOT takes this romantic tragicomedy to soaring new heights! Don Pedro, Prince of Aragon, and his retinue have returned from battle to the welcoming estate of Leonato in Messina, Italy. Waiting there are two gentlewomen who have great expectations, but the Prince’s malcontent brother has a plot for revenge that threatens to destroy all of their hopes of happiness.
