Virginia native and tenor Xavier Flory made his SOT debut as Macduff and Malcolm in Macbeth. He kicked off his career as a soprano soloist with the Vienna Boys Choir, performing at the Wiener Staatsoper and with the Vienna Philharmonic under maestros like Riccardo Muti, Seiji Ozawa, and Zubin Mehta. Many years after his role as one of the three boys in Die Zauberflöte, he’s sang Tamino in Toronto this past summer. Xavier holds a double PhD in Political Theory from Columbia University and Sciences Po Paris and teaches political philosophy with the Bard Prison Initiative.
